Bears place guard Ryan Bates on injured reserve, add two players to active roster

The Chicago Bears have placed guard Ryan Bates on injured reserve Tuesday, the team announced. Bates suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 29-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The Bears have signed tackle Larry Borom and guard Michael Schofield to the active roster

To fill Bates' spot on the roster, the Bears have signed tackle Larry Borom and guard Michael Schofield. Borom was a fifth-round pick by the Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft. He started 10 games at right tackle as a rookie. Schofield has played in 99 career games with 75 starts. He has played for the Chargers, Broncos, Panthers and Cardinals.

The Bears are now 3-6 this season

The Bears are now 3-6 this season. They will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Soldier Field.
